One of the most common questions from new Jellycat shoppers is: "What size should I get?" Jellycat offers most of their popular designs across multiple sizes, and choosing between a Small and a Medium — or a Medium and a Large — can feel confusing, especially when shopping online without a reference point.
This guide explains every Jellycat size, gives you real-world comparisons, and helps you pick the right size for any age, budget, or occasion.
Jellycat uses standardized size names across most of their collections, though the exact dimensions vary slightly by design. Here's a full breakdown:
| Size Name | Approx. Height | Best For | Typical Price Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tiny | 6 inches (15 cm) | Keyrings, desk decor, stocking stuffers | $10–$18 |
| Small | 7–9 inches (18–23 cm) | Toddlers, small gifts, travel companions | $15–$25 |
| Medium | 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) | Most popular all-around size | $25–$40 |
| Large | 14–16 inches (36–40 cm) | Older children, display pieces, big gifts | $40–$65 |
| Really Big | 20–22 inches (51–56 cm) | Statement pieces, nursery decor | $65–$90 |
| Huge | 20–51 inches (varies widely) | Display, collector pieces, oversized gifts | $90–$175+ |

Note: Jellycat does not always use these exact size name labels — some collections use their own naming conventions. The Bashful Bunny collection, for example, uses: Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Really Big, and Huge. Other collections may use different breakdowns or offer only one or two sizes.
The Bashful Bunny is Jellycat's best-selling design and the most useful size reference, since it's available in the widest range of sizes. Here's how each Bashful Bunny size compares:
Fits in the palm of an adult hand. The ears fold down to about 6 inches total. This is a great size for a keyring, stroller clip, or stocking stuffer. Not appropriate for children under 3 due to small parts.
About the size of a large apple. The ears fold down naturally. Very popular as a first soft toy for newborns and young infants because it's easy to hold and snuggle. This is often the size given in hospital gift shops and baby registries.
The most popular size by far. About as tall as a standard hardcover book when sitting. Big enough to feel substantial as a gift, small enough for children to carry around independently. This is the size most people picture when they think of a "Jellycat bunny."
Noticeably larger — this one is harder for small children to carry but makes a beautiful display piece or an impressive gift. Often chosen for milestone birthdays or as a nursery statement toy.
A true statement piece. This size is often used as nursery decor, propped in a crib or on a shelf. Adults tend to love this size as much as children — it photographs beautifully and makes a dramatic gift presentation.
Nearly as tall as a 4-year-old child. This is a collectors' item as much as a toy. Often purchased for photos, novelty gifts, or as a statement display in a child's room. Not practical for play but absolutely unforgettable as a gift.
When buying a Jellycat as a gift and you're not sure what the recipient already has, Medium is almost always the safest choice. It's the most universally loved size, photographs well for social media, feels generous without being overwhelming, and is available in the widest variety of designs and colorways.
Not every Jellycat design is available in every size. The Amuseable food collection (avocados, croissants, etc.) typically comes in one or two sizes only. Seasonal and holiday designs are often produced only in Small or Medium. If you're set on a specific design, check availability in your preferred size before falling in love with one that only comes in a size that doesn't work for you.
All standard Jellycat plush toys are machine washable on a delicate, cold cycle — regardless of size. The same care instructions apply across the range: cold water, delicate cycle, air dry. Larger sizes obviously take longer to dry thoroughly. Avoid tumble drying any size, as heat can damage the fabric and fill.

Larger sizes (Really Big and Huge) are not stocked by every retailer. Specialty toy stores, children's boutiques, and large department stores are the most reliable sources for the full size range. Use the JellyCat Finder store search to locate authorized retailers near you, and call ahead to confirm they stock your preferred size before making the trip.
